More Musings

It is late, and everything is quiet again. It is peaceful, and I still feel restless.

I know I am my own favorite whipping boy, but I promise that I will not hurt myself tonight with libel.  Just write about my thoughts and concerns.

I feel very much trapped. I almost cried watching "It's a Wonderful Life" today because I could sympathize with the main character. And at Christmas, I am reminded of the gifts I want to give and I'm not physically able to give them.

I still play WoW, and tonight I had a pretty awful dungeon run with a group I wish I had never gone with. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong, and I wish I had never asked to help it in the first place. I just want more time to myself and to be alone, and at the same time, it feels like I can't get that to happen.

I started reading a novel tonight about one of the characters in WoW, and it was very fun to take in. I've had the book for a while, but it wasn't until after playing the newest expansion that I realized the significance of a few of the characters mentioned in the book, and so I'm devouring it quite rapidly.

Good night and God bless, everyone.

Breaks out the Bon Jovi for Nanowrimo

I don't have a lot of Bon Jovi albums, but there's something about them that makes them one of my favorite bands. And so, today, I'm going to write 10,000 words for Nanowrimo to get my word count past 40,000. I need 50,000 by the end of November, which is very close at hand.

Writing is magic. Writing is about not knowing the rules. Writing is connecting with that which cannot be seen. Writing is many different things to many different people. Believe in yourself because God believes in you. And with as many awful things going on in this world, it's time to put some good back into it.

"Hell. It's about time."

Obama just won the biggest Alrathi Basin match ever...

Well, he did it. I voted for him. I'm happy he won.

Also, a quick comparison:

Barack Obama grew up in Hawaii.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson grew up in Hawaii.

Barack Obama's parents were a mixed race marriage.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's parents were a mixed race marriage.

Barack Obama's first name is Barack.
Dwayne Johnson's wrestling stage name is "The Rock".

Final observation: Can you smell what Barack is cookin'?

Even when I first heard about him in college before any of this, I just liked the sound of his name. That's all I went with. And after seeing him at least on TV and hearing his speeches, I have to say that he comes off as one of the nicest guys I've seen run for President, and one who is prepared to admit his faults and find ways to remedy them.

When I listened to his acceptance speech tonight, I think I saw some fear in his eyes, but I think that it's like any other hard won and challenging position like the presidency. If the fear wasn't there, we should all be worried. I hope he does well.

It's Voting Time!

Go vote!!!
